Privacy Policy

GatherReel runs private event galleries. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what happens to it.

What we collect

From hosts: name, email, phone number (used only to reach you about your event), event details, and payment (handled by Stripe — we never see your card number). From guests: a display name, optionally an email or phone if you choose to provide one, and the photos, videos, comments, and reactions you post. Automatically: basic technical logs (device type, errors) to keep the service working.

How we use it

To run your event: showing your content to your event's members, emailing you photos or links you request, notifying hosts about their event, and processing payments. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your event photos for advertising or to train AI models.

Marketing emails

We only send marketing email if you explicitly opt in (an unchecked box at points where you share your email, like the event door or the photo booth). Opting in is never required to use the service, every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and photo-delivery and sign-in emails are always sent regardless. We record when and where you opted in.

Who can see your content

Only members of your event. Events are invite-only: joining requires the event's private link or QR code. Event hosts can see, feature, and remove everything in their event. Our staff access content only when needed to operate the service or respond to a support request. Some sponsored events carry a promotional-use notice on their door: at those events, photos you share may also be used by the event's host and its sponsors for promotion, and the door tells you before you join.

Service providers

We use a small set of processors to run the service: Supabase (database and photo storage), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), and Resend (email delivery). Each receives only what it needs to do its job.

Retention and deletion

Event content is available for your plan's gallery window (from 14 to 365 days from the event date, depending on plan). After the window ends the gallery is no longer accessible; we make no commitment about whether content remains stored or retrievable beyond it. You can delete your own content at any time; hosts can delete any content in their event. To delete your account or request a copy of your data, email us — we'll complete it within 30 days.

Children

The service is for adults. Photos of children may appear in family events at the host's discretion and under the host's responsibility; guests under 13 should not create accounts.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
